Our 2025 Spring Show Results

The month of April always rhymes with spring shows here in Eastern Canada! This year, we attended a total of two spring shows which were organized by Alpaca Ontario and Alpaga Québec. Both spring shows offered a halter and a walking fleece format.

Alpaca shows allows us to see and appreciate what other breeders have produced and how their subjects are maturing. It is also a great opportunity to have our own alpacas evaluated to see how our breeding program is coming along but above all, it is a fun yearly gathering for alpaca breeders that come together and talk all things "alpaca".

**Our Alpaca Ontario 2025 Spring Show Results!**

After a few years hiatus, Alpaga Ontario held their Spring Show at the Kawartha Downs in Peterborough where over 15 different farms and more than 130 alpacas from all over Eastern Canada participated in the event. We came back from the AO show with some amazing results with our small show crew of 6 alpacas, winning 2 Colour Champions and 1 Reserve Champion, with many 1st and 2nd places across both judging formats.

A few weeks later, Alpaga Quebec held the 10th edition of their Spring Show at one of the best livestock venues in Eastern Canada, the Expo de St-Hyacinthe.

In the halter show, our crew won 3 Colour Championship and added 3 more Reserve Colour Champions. Some of our biggest surprises certainly came in the Brown and Light colour categories, which are typically not are specialty! In the brown category, our 1 year-old male Rush, won Reserve Champion. The other surprises came in the light colour category, where two of our Taji juveniles ended up winning Colour Champion for both male and female!

In the AQ walking fleece, judged by Kevin O'Leary, we presented almost the same exact crew and came out with 2 more Colour Champions and 2 Reserve Champions! Our biggest surprise in this format turned out to be our juvenile Roan male, Purely Enchanted, that won Reserve Champion Roan, right behind the Halter’s 2025 Supreme Male Champion, which turned out to also be a roan! Truly some though competition all around!

To say we are delighted with our 2025 Spring Show results would be an understatement! We are back from what was two very successful weekends for our farm and our show crew, with some amazing results and a few surprise ribbons along the way!

Congratulations to all the farms that participated, to all the volunteers that organized these events and it's a rendez-vous again next year!
