EE aa | Classic Grey

To say that we were eager to start working with this boy would be an understatement!  We typically do not waste too much time with 2-year-old males when it comes to breeding but we certainly made an exception with this one!

This exceptional Taji son is somewhat of a carbon copy of dad!  He is the result of powerhouse genetics, combining some of the most prominent classic greys in North America. His multi-champion MRG sire, Plum Creek's Taji, is one of only 2 registered classic grey son sired by Bellarmine (ATV Adonnis)…the other one being Crescent Moon’s Emmaus! His paternal grand-dam, Estates Yanni combines NS Magic Flight (Snowmass Enlightenment) lineage with some exquisite solid-coloured subjects from the Patagonia program. His maternal side combines Snowmass Conopa XXX and Arriba Adonis. His LRG grand-sire Adonis has produced many champions in every colour and has himself, won Judge's Choice, 3 Spinner's Choice Awards and several Grey Championships including the AOA 2015 National Fleece Show.

It seemed inevitable that this male would inherit some very positive fleece traits and the results speak for themselves! This boy boasts an impressive amount of fleece on his well-balanced, medium size frame. Beside carrying great density, his fleece is extremely fine and uniform which gives it a beautiful handle and an appreciable brightness. A truly stunning grey fleece on this male!

His first fleece analysis confirmed what we were seeing on the ground.  It came back with some impressive numbers for a classic grey!  AFD 16.4  |  SD 3.6  |  MC  52.9 .  We are currently awaiting his yearling fleece analysis but those are numbers we rarely see with classic greys, especially when they are expressed with such a degree of density. To top it all off, this boy has a EEaa genotype which will allow us to produce a good proportion of classic greys but also of black offspring when they turn out to be solid!

At his first halter show as a juvie, judge Robin Nasemann said: "I rarely pick the juvenile for colour champion, but this male is very well put together! I really appreciate his phenotype, his head style, how compact he is. He has presence with good substance of bone for age. But above all this, he has a very dense fleece that's really well-organized; it's fine, uniform and bright. You can see how tight the follicles are developing at the skin and it is certainly a good indicator of how this male is going to mature. Well done! "

Revolution has gone on to do extremely well as a yearling during showing season with 3 more Colour Champion titles.  We are extremely proud to have produced such a lovely classic grey male and we look forward to working with him in our program for many years to come!
